LEAD 2024

Skylar Serban ’24 is proud to share that Apex Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center, where she is an LPN and Area Manager, has been voted Best of the Best by Medina Gazette for 2023!

Barbara Scheufler ’24 received the Nursing Leadership award at Medina Hospital in 2022 and her team received an award for cross-training/collaborating between several areas. This month she is celebrating her daughter’s wedding on September 30th!

 

’97 The Perfect Class

 Skip Sipos ’97  is proud to share that his daughter Gretchen Newton has been appointed the principal for Ella Canavan Elementary School in the Medina City School District, effective August 01, 2023.

Greg Oakes ’01 retired on March 1st after 37 years in the insurance industry; the first 27 years with Westfield Group, and the last 10 years with Cincinnati Insurance.

 

’19 The Difference Makers

Jess Hazeltine ’19 has recently re-branded her calligraphy and hand lettering business, j.scribbs (all lowercase) to Cool Schmidt Studios. She creates all kinds of bespoke custom and upcycled pieces at can be purchased on her Cool Schmidt Studios shop on Etsy.

 

’22 The Phoenix Class

Kevin Denee ’22 was voted in on June 1st for his second 3-year term as a Trustee of the Highland Foundation. Among other duties, Kevin is currently serving as the IT Committee Chair. The Highland Foundation’s mission is to acquire and distribute resources to Highland Local Schools to supplement learning opportunities for its students, staff, and community.

 

’23 The Grateful Givers

Isaac D. Smith ’23 accepted a new position with the Trust for Public Land as the Ohio Project Manager. In his new role, he will be providing services for all 88 counties in Ohio.

Missy Schreiner ’24 has been named this year’s Distinguished Alumni in The Highland Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
