Medina County ADAMH Board Thanks Providers During Week of Appreciation

Each year, Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) recognizes those who work directly with individuals struggling to overcome substance use disorders by hosting a Week of Appreciation. This year, the Week of Appreciation will be held from September 18th through the 24th. The Medina County ADAMH Board Executive Director, Phillip Titterington, stated “the ADAMH Board is thankful for the great work that all of the Medina County behavioral health agencies are providing to those in need. He indicated that during the 2022 Week of Appreciation, he is especially grateful for the agencies involved in the ADAMH Board continuum of care, including Alternative Paths, Catholic Charities, Cathy’s House, the Discovery Recovery House, Hope Recovery Community, and OhioGuidestone, for their continued dedication to serving Medina County residents.” Through the help of Human Services levy funding, local ADAMH Board providers and partners have worked tirelessly to create a positive impact in the lives of those directly affected by substance use and mental health challenges.

The ADAMH Board wants to highlight these individuals for their efforts and continued commitment to Medina County residents. As the need for services continues to grow, a nationwide workforce shortage has led to fewer individuals entering the behavioral health field. These agencies are working to face the substance use and overdose epidemic with fewer staff and increasing needs while offering diverse and essential services to the community.

Executive Director Titterington said, “Despite these challenges, Medina County organizations are continuing to save lives. These workers remain dedicated to their mission of engaging individuals and families in treatment and recovery supports, promoting prevention efforts, and building strong, resilient communities. It can often be a formidable and underappreciated role that these behavioral health workers take in stride with vigilance and determination. The ADAMH Board is pleased to have the opportunity to express thanks and show support during this year’s Week of Appreciation”.
