May Leading Edge

Junior Leadership Students Take 2nd Place!

Congratulations to Katy Felix and Taryn Kenny who are members of the this year’s Junior Leadership class. For their Venture Project, they decided to create a video for the annual Youth Suicide Prevention Video Contest sponsored by the Medina County Coalition for Suicide Prevention. Katy and Taryn’s heartfelt video earned them second place in the competition. Both Taryn and Katy received a certificate of appreciation and a check for $250. Leadership Medina County thanks the Coalition for providing the opportunity for students to reach out in different ways to help educate and create awareness on suicide prevention in Medina County.

A Message from our Executive Director

Leadership Medina County (LMC) was established nearly 30 years ago. Over these 30 years, LMC has taken a leadership role in educating, connecting, and involving our community leaders. The staff and Board of Directors are committed to continuing to fulfill the goals and objectives LMC established decades ago.  In today’s world, achieving those goals and objectives often requires us to find opportunities to work in new ways. LMC is ready to take on the challenge of educating new classes this fall in person, and/or online. Now, more than ever, Medina County needs a network of leaders. The Signature Class of 2021, beginning in September, will be made up of strategic thinkers who are leading their organizations and our community through a once-in-a-century crisis. This may be the most impactful year in our 30 year history to participate in Leadership Medina County. As LMC moves ahead, I look forward to talking with you, and I encourage you to send me your thoughts and suggestions on how we can continue to be a positive and productive force in Medina County.  Our community needs a network of leaders who are willing to put their experience to work in making this an even better place to live, work, and play. You can contact me directly at (330) 721-7118 ext. 1 or colleen@leadershipmedinacounty.org.
