Leaders Invest $125,854 in Medina County

Medina County, Ohio –

What’s the value of volunteerism in Medina County? According to the Do Good Institute, the value of a volunteer hour is $29.95. The LEAD Institute and The Signature Class of 2022 recently completed five community projects with a total of 2,152 volunteer hours valued at $64,452.40 and cash donations of $61,402.

 

The LEAD Institute focused on 31 acts of purposeful kindness in celebration of Leadership Medina County’s 31st anniversary. Ninety-one non-profit organizations were supported throughout the nine-month program including, but not limited to Toys for Tots, Hickory Ridge PTG, Feeding Medina County, and Wreaths Across America.

The Signature Class worked on four projects, all designed to inspire residents and promote county pride. Of particular note, two groups focused on highlighted “everyday heroes” in our community. Among those honored were Pam Miller, Dr. Kim Bowen, Anamaria Feyervari, Jestin Grossenbaugh, Nicole Moehring, Shelly Wharton, and Ken Richardson. Their stories and contributions to our community will be featured in upcoming Leadership Medina County’s social media posts. Another group worked with Alternative Paths and scheduled suicide prevention trainings for 577 people throughout Medina County.
