Class Notes: August 2018

’94  The Finest

Sandy Calvert, was a sponsor and helped fundraise for Serenite’ and the Medina Recovery Center for the red carpet showing of ‘Knife Skills,’ an Academy Award nominated documentary about Edwins Restaurant and Culinary program for recovering addicts in Shaker Heights. Serenite’ in Medina is modeled after Edwins.

’96  The Brightest

Jeff Holland, Holland & Muirden, Attorneys at Law, will be the attorney for the Medina County Park District upon the retirement of John Jeandrevin later this year. Also, Jeff served for 10 years previously on the board of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy. He took a break after term limits, and has now been re-elected to the board.

’06  The Enterprising

Stacy Bonitz, Philpott Solutions Group, was elected at Philpott’s March board meeting, to be its Vice President-Controller. Stacy, who joined Philpott in 2010, became the first female officer in Philpott’s 129-year history.

’08  That Class

Greg Stafford, Philpott Solutions Group, will spearhead the company’s strategic growth program, including the launch of its newest initiative called Voice of the Customer (VOC) as Philpott’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Innovation.

’10 The Social Class

Tom Evans, Cuyahoga Heights Schools, served as an Associate Principal at Medina County Career Center.  In 2010 his alma mater, Cuyahoga Heights called and he returned as Middle/High School Principal, in 2015 he moved into the role of Superintendent of Schools at Cuyahoga Heights. Tom said “It is great to be where it all started for me and I look forward to leading our district to “New Heights””.

’14 The Class On Fire

Kathy Warner, First Impression, Inc. has moved to Medina Public square to better serve the community! They are now located at 140 West Washington Street.

’18 Self Driven Class

Cathy Lance, will be joining Heritage Crossing as their Marketing Director; A Meridian Senior Living Facility in Fairlawn. It is a brand new assisted living and memory care facility that opens in November.
