Mental Health & Recovery Board Calls for New Board Members

Are you a Medina County resident who has a passion for mental health and recovery services and is interested in serving your community? The Medina County Mental Health & Recovery Board (MHRB) is seeking qualified individuals to apply for upcoming Board of Directors positions. This is a volunteer position that requires inperson attendance at Committee and Board meetings two times per month (except in July and December).

Medina County MHRB’s Mission Statement:

The mission is to decrease stigma and provide hope for a better life by assuring the availability of high-quality services in the areas of mental health, substance use, and recovery support to all Medina County residents through planning, purchasing cost effective services to the extent resources are available, coordinating, and evaluating these services.

About the Medina County MHRB:

The Medina County Mental Health & Recovery Board (MHRB) is statutorily created through the Ohio Revised Code section 340.032 and is governed by a 14person, volunteer Board of Medina County residents, representing required appointment types. The MHRB does not provide direct services, but instead contracts with a network of providers to deliver a continuum of care that includes prevention, intervention, crisis, treatment, and recovery support. Through these strong community partnerships, the MHRB leads and advances efforts to ensure communities are healthy, safe, and drug-free, while assuring accountability and effectiveness in client care. It is uniquely positioned to assess local needs, determine local priorities, create local plans, and make local decisions. The MHRB ensures that taxpayer funds are spent in an effective, efficient, transparent, and quality manner to purchase a continuum of services and support that are needed by residents.

We are especially looking for mission-aligned individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas below. However, we encourage you to reach out for more information even if you do not meet the specific criteria.
