Select Park Sites Reopened
On April 10, Medina County Park District is reopening a limited number
of sites that were temporarily closed as a result of the COVID-19
Coronavirus outbreak. The locations to be reopened are:
● Letha House Park East
● Schleman Nature Preserve
Additional sites that remain open are:
● Brunswick Lake Park
● Buckeye Woods Park (State Route 162 and Deerview Lane entrances only)
● Hubbard Valley Park
● Lake Medina
● Letha House Park West
● Multipurpose Trails: Lester Rail Trail, Chippewa Inlet Trail, Chippewa
Rail Trail, and Montville Trail
These Medina County Park District locations remain closed to the public
until further notice: Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park, Green Leaf Park, Plum
Creek Park, River Styx Park, Chippewa Lake (including Krabill Shelter
and the public boat ramp), Killbuck Lakes, Medina Marsh, and Princess
Ledges. Wolf Creek Environmental Center, Alderfer-Oenslager Wildlife
Sanctuary, Susan Hambley Nature Center, and park district headquarters
also are closed until further notice. All programs and reservations
remain canceled through at least May 16.
The health and safety of visitors is Medina County Park District’s
number-one priority. Please stay home if you feel ill. To help avoid the
spread of the COVID-19 virus when visiting parks, please remember to:
● Keep a six-foot distance between yourself and others.
● Not use playground equipment.
● Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough.
Decisions regarding the opening and closure of park sites will be based
on continued developments in the COVID-19 crisis, as well as
recommendations from the Medina County Health Department and Ohio
Department of Health.
