Leadership Medina County hosted over two hundred people at The Blair Center in Westfield Center on December 5 to recognize sixteen nominees for their “Excellence in Leadership” in Medina County. Six outstanding leaders were chosen as this year’s Honorees in Leadership.
All six honorees have exhibited extraordinary leadership in the following fields: Excellence in Business Leadership, Excellence in Education Leadership, Excellence in Health Care Leadership, Excellence in Public Service Leadership, Excellence in Emerging Leadership, and overall Excellence in Medina County Leadership.
The following leaders in Medina County were chosen as the 2018 Honorees for their contributions to our community at the annual “Celebrating Excellence in Leadership” Awards dinner at The Blair Center:
Excellence in Business Leadership Douglas Williams, President, Securitec One, Inc.
Excellence in Education Leadership Dr. Kristine Quallich, Assistant Superintendent, Medina City Schools
Excellence in Emerging Leadership Suzie Muniak, Branch Manager, Brunswick Library, Medina County District Library
Excellence in Health Care Leadership Krista Wasowski, Health Commissioner, Medina County Health Department
Excellence in Public Service Leadership J. Jeffrey Holland, Attorney/Partner, Holland & Muirden, Attorneys at Law
Excellence in Medina County Leadership William Bittner, Retired
As each honoree accepted their award, a common theme throughout the evening as identified by everyone was that leadership isn’t something that is done alone, it’s a collaborative effort. And as stated by Dr. Kristine Quallich, “collaboration is what makes our county such a great place.”
“Leadership is a journey” as noted by Colleen Rice, Executive Director, Leadership Medina County, in her closing remarks. “Our world needs more leaders like these sixteen nominees that want to be part of the solution, who support melting pots of innovation, community, diversity, and ideas. “
