When was the first time you remember becoming aware of racial differences? What were you taught about the meaning of the Confederate battle flag? We learn early not to talk about race, and certainly not to talk about racism. The truth is that you can’t solve a problem if you can’t talk about it. Leaders can and should face controversial issues.
Let’s Talk: A Discussion on Systemic Racism will bring community members together to talk person-to-person in a facilitated format about what’s happening in our community and to build new relationships. During the session, participants will be split into small groups for discussions. This event is hosted by the Medina Diversity Project, American Association of University Women (AAUW) Medina Branch, and Leadership Medina County.
When: July 23, 2020, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
