Library Journal ranked MCDL a 3-STAR Library in their Index of Public Library Service for 2019.
Out of 6,333 libraries measured, MCDL ranked in the top 261!
The ratings are based on 2017 stats.
The STAR rankings are a measure of Library Service, which speaks highly of MCDL’s staff.
The rankings measure total circulation, circulation of electronic materials, public internet and computer use, library visits, programs and program attendance.
In 2019 the addition of a Wi-Fi use measurement helped thrust MCDL into the top rankings.
Christine Gramm, MCDL Interim Director says, “We are constantly reinventing ourselves at MCDL. We have a great staff that truly loves serving the community. In 2019 we debuted half a dozen new services, opened the New Family History and Learning Center at Medina Library, and partnered with dozens of community groups to improve the quality of life in Medina County. We are pleased Library Journal ranks us among the most elite of libraries nationally.”
And in other good news…
MCDL’s stats for 2019 all increased over 2018 in the STAR ranking categories.
